thanks for that I had no idea what a dd was until everyone kept on congratulating me on it ....then I realised it must be something special....can you guess Im a newby????
Hehe! Actually, I barely knew what DDs were when I got mine. But seriously, you should be very proud! I know people who produce some really cool work, who have been here for years without getting a DD. Your stuff is incredibly jaw-dropping. I was thinking of figuring out how to suggest a DD after I saw it because I knew it was worthy. Turns out other people thought so too and they beat me to it ( and good for them! ).
I am so very happy for you! I don't know if you do this as a hobby or if you're making a living off your sculptures, but I definitely hope you find success everywhere you go!
Ahhhh thanks for that, I am really honoured to have achieved a DD so quickly and flattered to think that you were going to recommend me for one. I also love the way you describe my work as Jaw Dropping!!!! That is the effect that I ultimately want to create with my work and it really warms my heart to know that I have achieved this with your response, so thank you so much for that and for taking the time to share your feelings about my work with me .....I hope that I am able to achieve another some time as I was amazed at the response that my work got as it doesn't get enough exposure as I need to spend most of my time creating rather than promoting my work .....I am trying to make a living from my work as it is normally so well receive when people actually see it for real, instead of in picture format, they are so hard to describe properly or to capture all the fantastic hues of colour that come from the metal and the different effects that the natural light of the day has on my work, also its hard to show the detail of my etchings on camera so as you can see so much gets lost.Success is slow especially with the economic climate the way it is but I will continue to strive to create for as long as I can, if I get sales I am able to buy materials so therefore I can make more work but no sales means no work, but I will continue for as long as I can in the hope that my work will someday get recognised. Its people like you that help for that to happen by encouraging me with your wonderful comments and wishing me well so I can only hope to find more lovely people like you Kaikaku, and lots of people who want to buy my work, warm wishes to you from the bottom of my heart and thanks you so much for wishing me well in my quest.
Your work is definitely Jaw Dropping! I can tell that the pictures don't do sculptures justice--I'd love to see those pieces for real someday. I'm sure it's hard to pick up both the scale of the pieces and the colors with the camera. I'm so glad that you're getting such positive exposure on DA, and I hope that it will translate to sales for you. It is not easy to be an artist with the economy the way it is right now.
Anyway, best wishes once again. I plan on featuring you in my journal once I get a little more time... life's been so crazy busy lately.
Well you never know maybe a piece of my work might end up in your neck of the woods at a gallery exhibition or something similar, I would like to think that would be the case. I to hope that some of the interest I pick up on here will be converted to sales also and I have to agree the climate is doing nothing to help anyone at the moment.
Thanks so much for wanting to feature me in your journal I look forwrd to seeing it when you do, i hope you get a breather in your crazy busy state and I cant thank you enough for your praise of my work and your support.
